Q. How long will it take to get my site up and running?
A. A project can take anywhere from a couple days to several weeks to complete depending on the complextity of the project and how soon all materials can be delivered in order to begin.
The contract states all photos and text are to be delivered to Gallantry Web Design within 45 days of initializing the project, and we will complete the job within 30 days. If more time
is needed by either party, simply communicate the needs and extentions are generally granted.
Q. How much does it cost to have a site designed?
A. The cost is dependent upon the size of your web site and if you are a small business, a corporation or a nonprofit organization (personal nonprofit sites as well).
The costs are as follows:
Small Business - $200 for the homepage, $20 per additional page.
Corporation - $500 for homepage, $20 per additional page.
Nonprofit Organization or Nonprofit Personal: $100 for homepage, $20 per additional page.
Q. What if I have already purchased a site template elsewhere?
A. We will be happy to set up your purchased template for $100 and re-create this template for the rest of your site for $20 per page.
Q. Do you offer web hosting?
A. No. However we can make some excellent recommendations. Whomever you choose, we will work with your hosting company to get your site up and running.
Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. We accept all major credit cards, money orders and business checks.
Q. Can I maintain my site once it is up and running?
A. Absolutely. However, Gallantry Web Design offers lifetime maintenance with your web site so all you need to do is concentrate on what you do best!
Q. Will you teach me how to maintain my web site?
A. Sorry, we do not offer lessons. However there are many useful books printed and sites on the web that can teach you basic to advanced html code.
Q. Do I own the copyrights to my web site?
A. As stated by the U.S. Copyright Office, you own the copyrights to any of your own writing, images created by your own hand and photos taken by you. You do not own the rights to any of the images I create for you or the design of the site. The only exception is your logo. If I design your logo, the rights belong to you. For more information on copyright issues, please view my sample web contract, paragraphs 4 and 9.
Essentially, what this means is you cannot alter or change the design or graphics of your web site without my consent. It also means I can place a small, out of the way signature at the bottom of your page letting your visitors know who created your site. Something like this: Site designed by Gallantry Web Design © 2010 (see my copyright notice at the bottom of this page as an example).
If you would like complete, 100% copyrights to your web site (meaning you have complete control over the graphics and layout and I relinquish all rights to the images and design), then we would negotiate an appropriate fee for sale of the rights.
